Three Consecutive Years of High Honors
for Pisoni in The Wine Advocate

Jeb Dunnuck, who reviews wines around the world for Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, has again named Pisoni’s estate Pinot Noir to his “Best Annual Releases” list, describing it as “year in and year out, one of the most impressive Pinot Noirs from California.” Dunnuck gave the 2014 Pinot Noir 95 points, identifying it in the October 2016 issue of Wine Advocate as “a classic effort from [Pisoni’s] impeccably run estate” before naming the 2014 wine in his “Best of 2016 Releases” last month.
This is the third year in a row that Dunnuck has listed Pisoni wines in his yearly “Best” series. In 2014, the critic, a full-time reviewer for the publication since his recruitment by Robert Parker in 2013, assigned our 2012 estate Pinot Noir 96 points, calling it “one of the richest, most powerful and textured wines in the vintage.” In 2015, Dunnuck named Pisoni’s 2013 estate Pinot Noir to his “Best” releases list, where it was accorded 96+ points.
We’re honored that our estate Pinot has been recognized as a top wine for three consecutive years in Wine Advocate’s annual “Bests” series. “That we’ve been reviewed so consistently despite dramatic changes in weather is really a tribute to our farming methods,” Mark notes. “We work hard to adapt to Nature’s demands. Our close attention to the vineyard is the constant.” Jeff agrees, explaining that the December publication of Wine Advocate’s best annual releases comes at a time when the family is already looking back at the year’s efforts more largely. “Each year brings different challenges. In winter, we step back to assess the decisions we’ve made in the vineyard and the winery across the seasons. It’s great to receive external confirmation that our work is well done.”
