We’re proud to announce that our 2017 Lucia Soberanes Vineyard Syrah was featured recently on Jeb Dunnuck’s “Top 100 Red Wines of 2019” list. Our ninth bottling from vines planted in our Soberanes Vineyard in 2007, this Syrah marks the tenth anniversary from this site.

According to the review, Dunnuck affirms “it’s a rich, full-bodied, powerful wine” and characterizes it as possessing “tons of blue fruits, ground herbs, and papery notes” and one that “just sings of Syrah,” he concludes.

Indeed, the site from which this vintage derives is a special one, whose vines are the result of a massale selection clone planted in the rocky and decomposed granite soils of Soberanes Vineyard. Once the 2017 fruit arrived at the winery, we fermented it with 100% whole clusters and cellared it in 45% new French oak. We’re especially pleased and honored to have the 2017 Lucia Soberanes Vineyard Syrah, with its distinguished planting history, honored as one of the top 100 wines by this esteemed wine critic.
